Freshman Harrison Barnes scored 25 points and John Henson had a double-double, leading North Carolina to an 84-64 home victory against North Carolina State on Saturday at Dean Smith Center.
Barnes, who hit a game-winning jumper Wednesday at Miami to keep the Tar Heels in the thick of the ACC title race, picked up where he left off against the Wolfpack. The preseason All-American was 10 of 16 from the field and hit three 3-pointers.
Henson was dominant in the post, scoring 16 points, grabbing 18 rebounds and blocking seven shots.
The Tar Heels (15-5, 5-1 ACC) broke it open early and led 34-21 at halftime. They shot 47.1 percent from the field (33 for 70) and outrebounded the Wolfpack 41-30.
The Wolfpack (12-9, 2-5 ACC) shot 36.5 percent from the field (23 for 63) and went almost seven minutes without a field goal in the first half.
Lorenzo Brown scored 19, and C.J. Leslie added 14 to lead N.C. State.
The Tar Heels have won eight of nine; the Wolfpack have lost five of six.
