Khris Middleton scored 16 points and No. 16 Texas A&M broke open a close game early in the second half en route to a 69-51 win over host Oklahoma Saturday in the Big 12 Conference opener for both teams.
The Aggies (14-1, 1-0 Big 12) were leading 42-36 before going on a 17-4 run during an eight-minute span to put away Oklahoma (8-7, 0-1 Big 12). Texas A&M, which shot a season-best 54.3 percent from the field, won its 11th straight, matching the 2004-05 Aggie squad for the third longest winning streak in school history.
Texas A&M has held its opponents to less than 56 points per game while outrebounding foes by more than 11 per game during the winning streak. The Aggies dominated Oklahoma on the boards, 28-17 while winning in Norman for the second straight season.
Naji Hibbert came off the bench to score 12 of his 14 points for Texas A&M in the first half as the Aggies took a 36-28 lead at the intermission. B.J. Holmes added 13 for A&M.
Andrew Fitzgerald paced Oklahoma with a game-high 17 points while Cade Davis chipped in 13.
