Kenny Boynton scored 15 points and Erving Walker added 13 as No. 24 Florida dominated the second half en route to a 57-44 victory over No. 6 Kansas State Saturday in the Metro PCS Orange Bowl Classic at Sunrise, Fla.
The Gators (8-2) held the Wildcats (9-2) to 26.8 percent shooting (15 of 56) and outscored them 37-21 after halftime.
Kansas State led 23-20 at the half but could not get started after the break, letting Florida open with an 8-0 run. The Wildcats did not make their first field goal in the second half until the 11:09 mark, by which time the Gators had already opened up a nine-point bulge.
Florida stretched the lead to as much as 52-34 with 4:12 remaining before cruising to the finish.
Jacob Pullen scored 19 points to lead Kansas State, which had its five-game winning streak snapped. Now the Wildcats must go on the road again to play No. 22 UNLV on Tuesday.
