Hugh Robertson scored 14 points and Ron Anderson Jr. added four of his 10 points in overtime to lead South Florida to a 60-59 home victory against Virginia Commonwealth on Wednesday.
Anderson opened overtime with a layup to put the Bulls (5-3) ahead for good. He added a pair of free throws later in the period as the Bulls built the lead to six before holding on for the win.
The Rams (4-2) had a chance to take the lead late, but Bradford Burgess missed a layup and VCU couldn't get off another shot in time.
Augustus Gilchrist scored 12 points and Jawanza Poland added 11 for the Bulls, who won despite shooting just 38.5 percent from the field and 4-of-15 from beyond the arc.
Jamie Skeen had a game-high 16 points to pace the Rams, including three free throws down the stretch that drew Virginia Commonwealth to within one. Burgess chipped in with 15 points in defeat.
