Christian Watford and Jordan Hulls combined for 32 points, leading unbeaten Indiana to a 72-56 victory over North Carolina Central on Tuesday night in Bloomington, Ind.
The victory gave the Hoosiers their first 5-0 start since the 2002-03 season.
Indiana trailed, 22-21, with 6:48 left before halftime, but turned up the heat defensively to close the period with a 13-2 surge and a 10-point advantage. After the Eagles (1-3) got back within three at 40-37, Watford scored eight of his 17 points during an 11-0 Indiana run that stretched the lead out to 51-37 with 11:04 to go.
North Carolina Central, which committed 22 turnovers, never got closer than seven the rest of the way.
The Eagles were led by Landon Clement and Justin Leemow, who scored 17 and 15 points, respectively.
Hulls contributed an efficient 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting, hitting three of four 3-point attempts.
