Damian Lillard, Portland's first-team All-NBA guard, posted a season-high 42 points and added seven rebounds and six assists. He had 41 points in his previous game Thursday night at Orlando.

Miami, which blew a 19-point second-quarter lead, put together a 10-0 run late. Portland had a late lead at 106-103 with 3:07 left in the game. But a layup by Kelly Olynyk and a Dragic three-pointer put Miami up for good.

Portland, which entered the game ranked third in the NBA in scoring (125.3), was held to 42-percent shooting from the floor.

Justise Winslow, Miami's first-round pick in 2015, made his season debut, scoring 10 points in 19 minutes off the bench. He had missed Miami's first four games because of a hamstring injury.

Miami led 33-22 after a first quarter in which it shot 56 percent, compared to 38.1 percent for Portland. The Heat bench scored 16 points in the period, including a 3-pointer just before the buzzer by Tyler Johnson.

The Heat kept it going, starting the second quarter on an 8-0 roll before settling for a 57-42 halftime lead.

Lillard led Portland with 17 first-half points, but the Blazers shot just 37.8 percent, including 2-of-13 on 3-pointers.

Portland scored 37 points in the third quarter, cutting its deficit to 89-79. Lillard had 15 points in the period.

The Blazers finally caught Miami with 6:19 left in the fourth quarter, tying the score 96-96 on Zach Collins' 3-pointer. Lillard followed with a trey to give Portland its first lead since the first quarter, and that set up the drama in the final minutes.
