Rookie Kyle Filipowski set career highs with 30 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Utah Jazz to a 133-126 overtime victory against the Portland Trail Blazers in Salt Lake City on Wednesday.
Filipowski hit 13 of 17 shots, including a game-tying dunk with 2.8 seconds left in regulation, and finished with five assists and three steals as the Jazz (17-63) snapped a nine-game losing streak.
Utah's Brice Sensabaugh added 22 points, Keyonte George totaled 18 points, six rebounds, six assists and seven turnovers, and Oscar Tshiebwe contributed 17 points and 10 boards off the bench.
Shaedon Sharpe scored a season-high 37 points and sank a season-best six 3-pointers but didn't play in the overtime session for the Blazers (35-45).
Seven Portland players scored in double figures, including Rayan Rupert, who logged a career-best 19 points.
Dalano Banton put Portland up 122-119 by sinking a layup with 2:23 left in OT.
After that, Filipowski started and ended a game-deciding 10-0 run with dunks. That spurt included back-to-back 3-pointers by George.
The fourth quarter had a wild finish.
Utah's Johnny Juzang (14 points) missed a go-ahead corner 3-point attempt with 10.7 seconds left, but the Jazz got another chance after Jabari Walker (15 points) split a pair of free throws with 6.7 seconds remaining to give the Blazers a 114-112 lead.
After a timeout advanced the ball, Filipowski knotted the score with a slam. The Blazers then had a great look after a timeout, but Toumani Camara's winning layup rolled off the rim at the buzzer to send the game into overtime.
Camara went on a personal 9-0 run in the second quarter, but Utah responded with a 7-1 surge and took a 55-52 lead into halftime.
Portland used a 7-0 spree to go up 73-71 lead in the third and finished the quarter up 85-80.
Utah regained a lead, 94-92, early in the fourth quarter with an 8-0 run, including five points from Svi Mykhailiuk.
The Blazers responded and held a six-point edge with just over four minutes to go, when the Jazz made their final surge beginning with a dunk by Filipowski and a trey by Sensabaugh.
