Celtics 112, Raptors 88:
Jeff Green scored 20 points off the bench and Paul Pierce added 15 in his return to the lineup as Boston bounced back by trouncing visiting Toronto.

Kevin Garnett collected 12 points and seven rebounds and Jason Terry chipped in 12 points and seven assists for the Celtics, who suffered a 100-74 loss at lowly Charlotte on Tuesday while resting Pierce.

Rudy Gay scored 19 points and DeMar DeRozan had 17 as the Raptors lost for the seventh time in the last nine games. Toronto has not won in Boston since Jan. 23, 2008.

The Celtics used a 16-4 run in the second quarter to take control and went into the half with a 49-40 edge. Garnett capped that spurt with an alley-oop dunk off Terry’s feed and Green scored 12 points in the second quarter.

The Raptors drew within four points in the third but Green capped a 7-0 run to close the period and sent Boston into the fourth with an 81-62 cushion. Green’s jumper with 5:24 left pushed it to 98-72 and Boston coasted to the finish.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Pierce (23,763) moved past Charles Barkley (23,757) and into 20th place in career points and passed Allen Iverson (6,375) for 10th place in career free throws made with 6,377. Garnett (25,201) moved past Jerry West (25,192) and into 15th place on the all-time scoring list. … Gay was back in the lineup after missing Sunday’s win over the Cleveland Cavaliers due to a stiff back. … Toronto PG Sebastian Telfair was ejected at the start of the fourth quarter after being called for his second technical foul.
