Jazz 95, Lakers 86: Al Jefferson scored 10 of his team-high 18 points in the fourth quarter to offset a blazing period by Kobe Bryant and help host Utah halt its three-game losing streak.

Jefferson grabbed 10 rebounds, Randy Foye was 5-for-9 from 3-point range and finished with 17 points and Mo Williams added 16 points for the Jazz, who have won three straight meetings with the Lakers.

Bryant scored a game-high 29 points, including the final 16 by Los Angeles, which has lost four of its first five regular-season contests after going 0-8 during the preseason. Dwight Howard added 19 points, Metta World Peace scored 15 and Jordan Hill had 12 boards but the Lakers shot just 33.8 percent from the field.

After Los Angeles closed within 65-60 on a three-point play by Darius Morris early in the fourth quarter, Foye converted four consecutive 3-pointers. He hit two straight from beyond the arc following a 3-point shot by World Peace with 7:39 remaining, giving Utah a 79-68 lead.

Jefferson, who hadn't scored since recording eight points in the first quarter, registered eight straight points for Utah late in the fourth to open an 89-78 advantage.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Utah was held to 14 points in the third quarter after averaging 28 in the period over its first four games. ... Bryant was just 7-for-17 from the field but sank 15 of his 17 free-throw attempts. ... The Jazz, who improved to 42-38 at home against the Lakers, began the game with a 9-2 run.
