CLIPPERS 104, NUGGETS 98: Kenyon Martin tipped in the go-ahead basket and Chris Paul had 21 points and eight assists as visiting Los Angeles won its fifth straight game.

Mo Williams scored 19 points and Caron Butler added 14 as the streaking Clippers won for the 13th time in 15 games.

Ty Lawson scored 24 points for Denver, which had a two-game winning streak halted and fell to seventh place in the Western Conference behind the Dallas Mavericks.

Martin’s tip-in with 27.1 seconds left followed a miss by Paul to snap a tie at 96 and start a game-ending 8-2 run.

The Clippers led 95-89 after a 3-pointer by Williams with just over three minutes left but Denver recovered to tie the score at 96 on two free throws by Andre Miller with 52.8 seconds remaining.

The Nuggets led 87-82 when Lawson hit a 3-pointer with 7:08 to play before Los Angeles rolled off 10 straight points and took a five-point lead on Nick Young’s 18-footer with 4:35 left.

Young scored 13 points and Blake Griffin and Randy Foye each scored 12 for the Clippers, who connected on 14 of 24 3-point attempts.

Al Harrington added 14 for Denver, which got 12 apiece from Arron Afflalo, Kenneth Faried, Kosta Koufos and Miller.

Denver started fast and led 34-22 after one quarter. The Nuggets led 53-47 at halftime.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Butler and Williams made four 3-pointers and Young added three for Los Angeles. … Lawson has scored 20 or more points in four of the last five games. … The Clippers committed 17 turnovers. … Denver swingman Wilson Chandler needs hip surgery and will miss the rest of the season.
