Jorge Soler hit a tape-measure home run and Miami starter Jesus Luzardo worked six scoreless innings as the visiting Marlins shut out the San Diego Padres 3-0 Tuesday night to even their three-game series.

Luzardo (9-8) ended a three-decision losing streak as he held the Padres to two singles and a walk. He struck out seven. Over his previous four starts (17 innings), Luzardo gave up 21 runs (20 earned) on 30 hits and nine walks for a 10.59 ERA.

Luzardo retired 12 in a row from Jake Cronenworth's one-out single in the second to Ha-Seong Kim's one-out single in the sixth. Kim was eliminated trying to steal second as Fernando Tatis Jr. struck out for Luzardo's final whiff. David Robertson completed the three-hit shutout to earn his 18th save.

Meanwhile, the Marlins' three-run third marked the first time in 95 innings that Padres starter Blake Snell gave up three runs in an inning. The streak dated back to May 19.

Soler blasted a full-count fastball from Snell 442 feet for his 33rd home run with one out in the third. The 112 mph line drive hit off the batter's eye at Petco Park. It marked the fourth straight game in which Snell gave up a homer after he yielded only two in his previous 13 starts.

Four of the next five Marlins singled off Snell. Luis Arraez and Josh Bell followed with hits to put runners at first and second. Jake Burger topped a grounder toward short. Xander Bogaerts charged but threw the ball over the head of first baseman Garrett Cooper, allowing Arraez to score on the error and allowing Bell to advance to third.

Bell scored on Avisail Garcia's groundout to make it 3-0, with the Marlins left fielder immediately leaving the game due to a hamstring strain. Jazz Chisholm Jr. followed with a line-drive single to right, and Tatis threw out Burger at the plate to end the inning.

Snell fell to 10-9, ending a streak of four straight wins. He had gone 9-2 over his previous 14 starts. Snell gave up three runs on six hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in six innings.
