Danny Valencia broke an 0-for-25 slump with a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning that gave the host Baltimore Orioles a come-from-behind 5-4 victory over the New York Yankees in the first game of a doubleheader Monday at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

The Orioles also got a two-run shot from Mark Trumbo to rally from an early 3-0 deficit and allow for Valencia's heroics to snap a six-game losing streak.

Baltimore scored all of its runs in two innings, and Trumbo had a hand in both. His fourth-inning home run plated Manny Machado and got the Orioles to within 3-2. He led off the sixth inning with a walk off of Yankees starter CC Sabathia, then advanced to third on a Jonathan Schoop double. Valencia then sent a 1-1 pitch over the fence in center to give the Orioles a 5-4 lead.

Jimmy Yacabonis gave the Orioles five innings in his second major league start. He allowed three runs and struck out five, keeping Baltimore close after the early deficit.

Mike Wright Jr. (2-0) allowed one run in two innings in relief of Yacabonis and earned the victory. Mychal Givens took care of the eighth, and Zach Britton closed it in the ninth and took home his second save.

The Yankees had a runner on third with one out before Britton set down the next two batters and escaped.

Sabathia (6-4) cruised through the first three innings before running into trouble. He went five-plus innings and allowed five runs on the two homers.

Giancarlo Stanton started the scoring with a solo homer to left leading off the second. The Yankees then added two more runs in the third.

After New York put runners at first and third with no outs, Baltimore got Aaron Hicks to ground into a double play, first baseman Trey Mancini stepping on the bag to get Hicks and then threw home to nail Kyle Higashioka.

But Tyler Wade moved to second on the play and scored when Aaron Judge followed with an RBI single. Judge went to second on the throw, and he came in when Didi Gregorius singled to make it 3-0.

After Trumbo's home run, the Yankees answered with a run against Wright on Neil Walker's RBI single in the sixth, but the two-run lead was eliminated by Valencia's homer in the bottom half of the inning.
