Daniel Robertson had three hits, including the game-winning single, as the Tampa Bay Rays edged the Detroit Tigers 10-9 in 10 innings Monday at Tropicana Field.

Robertson's hit brought home Kevin Kiermaier, who ripped a one-out triple off Blaine Hardy (3-2).

Carlos Gomez had three hits and three RBIs and C.J. Cron also had three hits while scoring a run and driving in another for the Rays. Wilson Ramos hit a solo homer and Matt Andriese (2-3), the ninth Rays pitcher, notched the win with an inning of scoreless relief.

Nicholas Castellanos led the Tigers' attack with three hits and three runs scored. Niko Goodrum contributed two doubles and three RBIs.

Detroit starter Francisco Liriano's night quickly fell apart after he struck out the first batter he faced, as the Rays scored five runs before the inning was over.

The Tigers got three runs back in the third. They loaded the bases with no outs and Goodrum then drilled a two-run double off the right-field wall. One out later, Castellanos scored on Jim Adduci's groundout.

The Rays increased their lead to 7-3 in the bottom of the inning. Ramos led off with a homer to right. Gomez later knocked in Cron with a double.

Everything quieted down until the seventh, when Detroit tore into the Rays' bullpen and tied the score. The first two hitters reached on a walk and a hit batsman. Goodrum then ripped another double to right-center to knock in a run.

Castellanos would have been thrown out at the plate after Victor Martinez's fly out if catcher Ramos hadn't dropped the ball.

With the bases loaded again and two out, Jose Iglesias smacked a two-run double to left to make it a 7-7 game.

Tampa Bay regained the lead in the bottom of the inning. With runners on the corners and one out, Gomez dropped down a bunt that turned into an RBI single. Pinch-hitter Joey Wendle then banged an RBI double off the right-field wall.

The Tigers tied it once again in the eighth, however, as Martinez drove in Castellanos with an RBI single and a throwing error by first baseman Jake Bauers allowed the tying run to score.
