Rangers 9, Athletics 4: Lance Berkman homered and Ian Kinsler and Nelson Cruz drove in two runs apiece as host Texas rolled past Oakland.

David Murphy was 3-for-4 and scored twice, Leonys Martin had two hits and scored two runs and Adrian Beltre delivered an RBI double for the Rangers, who have taken two of the first three games in the series against the first-place Athletics after dropping a season-high six straight games. Justin Grimm (6-5) got the win after giving up three runs in five innings.

Berkman slugged a two-run shot in the bottom of the second off Athletics starter Tommy Milone (6-7), but the Athletics took a 3-2 lead when Chris Young went deep with two men on in the fifth. Texas had a quick answer as Murphy and Martin led off the bottom half with consecutive singles and came around to score on a Kinsler sacrifice fly and a Cruz groundout.

Martin, Kinsler and Cruz had RBI singles in the sixth before Beltre made it 8-3 with a run-scoring double. The Rangers added one more in the seventh when A.J. Pierzynski came home on a wild pitch.

Young, who is 6-for-12 with two homers in his last five games, was the only Oakland batter with more than one hit. Josh Donaldson chipped in an RBI single in the eighth.
