Twins 15, Red Sox 8:
Ryan Doumit homered among four hits and rookie Oswaldo Arcia recorded his first career four-hit game as visiting Minnesota pounded Boston.

Trevor Plouffe, Justin Morneau and Pedro Florimon each had three RBIs while Doumit and Aaron Hicks drove in two apiece for the Twins. Starter Pedro Hernandez lasted only two innings while allowing six runs but Ryan Pressly (1-0), who was picked up from the Red Sox organization in the Rule 5 draft over the winter, made his first appearance at Fenway Park with four scoreless innings and earned his first major-league win.

Rookie Allen Webster (0-1) made his second career start for Boston and could not get out of the second inning, surrendering eight runs and six hits - two homers - in 1 2/3 frames. Jonny Gomes hit a grand slam and totaled five RBIs for the Red Sox, who have dropped five of six.

Minnesota got to Webster for four runs in the first, capped by Doumit’s two-run blast, but Hernandez could not hold the lead as the Red Sox put up five runs in the bottom of the frame. The Twins kept the pressure on with seven more runs in the second as Florimon started the rally with solo home run and finished it with a two-run double off Felix Doubront.

Doubront, who had surrendered his spot in the rotation to Webster, was charged with six runs and 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings of relief. Minnesota added a run in the fourth, two more in the fifth and one in the ninth to complete its biggest outburst of the season.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Pressly was drafted by the Red Sox in 2007 but never made it past Double-A in their organization before being plucked by the Twins. … Boston DH David Ortiz went 0-for-5 to snap a 27-game hitting streak that dated back to last season. … Red Sox C David Ross (quad) and 3B Will Middlebrooks (right side) were held out of the lineup a day after being forced out of the game following a collision in foul territory.
