Reds 6, Pirates 1: Johnny Cueto pitched a complete game for his fourth victory and Cincinnati hit three home runs to win for the fourth time in five games.

Jay Bruce, Drew Stubbs and Zack Cozart hit home runs to spark a Reds offense that finished with 12 hits.

Cueto (4-0) cruised, allowing seven hits and one run with no walks and four strikeouts. He threw 110 pitches, 75 for strikes. The right-hander lowered his ERA to 1.31, fourth-best in the majors.

Ahead 3-1 entering the seventh, the Reds broke out the long ball. Cozart and Stubbs hit back-to-back homers off Pittsburgh starter Kevin Correia (1-2) in the seventh, the two solo shots pushing the Reds’ advantage to 5-1.

Bruce hit his eighth homer of the season in the eight off Chris Resop, a solo blast to right.

Chris Heisey’s bunt single in the top of the second scored Bruce, giving the Reds a 1-0 lead. Ryan Hanigan’s double to left in the fourth scored Heisey to put the Reds up 2-0.

The Pirates pulled within 2-1 on Pedro Alvarez’s sacrifice fly in the fourth but Cincinnati's Brandon Phillips singled home Cozart in the fifth to push it back to a two-run gap.

Pittsburgh has lost four of its past six. Correia gave up nine hits and five runs in seven innings, walking one and striking out three.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Battling the stomach flu, Pittsburgh center fielder Andrew McCutchen did not start for the second time in three games. … Bruce, Cozart and Stubbs each finished with two hits, going a combined 6-for-14 with five runs scored. ... Eight of Cincinnati's 12 hits were for extra bases (four doubles, one triple, three homers).
