White Sox 7, Mariners 4:
Alexei Ramirez pushed across the go-ahead run on an infield single in the eighth inning and Gordon Beckham homered twice as host Chicago won its ninth straight game.

Adam Dunn also homered and Alejandro De Aza delivered a two-run single in the three-run eighth as the White Sox defeated a Seattle squad that scored 31 runs over its previous two games.

Addison Reed pitched a perfect ninth for his seventh save in as many opportunities.

Beckham homered twice off Seattle ace Felix Hernandez and Dunn followed Beckham’s fifth-inning blast with a solo shot to give Chicago a 4-0 lead.

The Mariners rallied as Kyle Seager drove in three runs – hitting a two-run homer in the seventh off Jake Peavy and adding a run-scoring single in the eighth – before Justin Smoak hit a game-tying single to right off Jesse Crain (1-0) with two outs in the eighth.

Chicago’s ninth-inning uprising began when Paul Konerko reached on a two-base error by Seattle center fielder Michael Saunders. The White Sox had runners on first and third with two out against Shawn Kelley (0-2) when Ramirez hit a slow roller toward shortstop Brendan Ryan and easily beat the throw as pinch runner Brent Lillibridge scored from third. De Aza ripped a two-run single to left later in the inning.

Peavy took a one-hit shutout into the seventh before allowing a double to Dustin Ackley and a homer to Seager that finished his night. He allowed two runs and three hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Hernandez allowed four runs and five hits in five innings.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hernandez has allowed five homers in 11 innings over his last two outings … Chicago outfielder Dayan Viciedo was hitless in four at-bats after going 16-for-29 over the previous seven games … Seager is 9-for-15 over Seattle’s last three games … Dunn struck out twice and has fanned 24 times over the last 11 games.
