Cole Hamels tossed his third complete game of the season and Hunter Pence belted a two-run triple to highlight a six-run sixth inning as the Philadelphia Phillies moved closer to their fifth consecutive National League East title with a 7-2 triumph over the host Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday.

Wilson Valdez and Carlos Ruiz had RBI doubles and John Mayberry Jr. and Ben Francisco added run-scoring singles for Philadelphia, which has won nine of its last 11 to reduce its magic number for clinching the division to 11.

The Phillies, who scored all six of their runs in the sixth inning with two outs, now lead the Atlanta Braves by 10 games in the NL East.

Hamels (14-7) collected his 10th career complete game and improved to 5-2 in his career versus the Brewers after allowing two runs on four hits.

Yuniesky Betancourt belted his first homer since Aug. 20 and Corey Hart also went deep for Milwaukee, which leads the St. Louis Cardinals by eight games in the NL Central.

Chris Narveson (10-7) saw his four-game winning streak come to an end after permitting six runs on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings.
