Ryan Braun singled home the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Milwaukee Brewers snapped a five-game losing streak with a 5-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday night.
Corey Hart belted a two-run home run and Prince Fielder added a solo shot for the Brewers, who scored single runs in their last three at-bats in the comeback win.
Following Fielder’s homer in the eighth, George Kottaras tripled home Carlos Gomez with one out in the ninth to even the score and send it to extras.
With a runner on second and one out, Evan Meek (4-3) intentionally walked Fielder to bring up the slugging Braun, who lifted a deep single to right that plated Rickie Weeks.
That made a winner of John Axford (4-1), who struck out two in one inning of work.
Andrew McCutchen had a homer and two RBIs and Lastings Milledge homered for just the second time this year to help the Pirates built up a 4-2 edge through five innings, before losing their fourth straight.
