Josh Johnson pitched seven strong innings and Ronny Paulino drove in a pair of runs to lead the Florida Marlins past the Milwaukee Brewers, 3-2, on Thursday.
Dan Uggla drove in a run and scored a pair and Chris Coghlan had two more hits for the Marlins, who have won four of five.
Johnson struck out eight and scatted seven hits to pick up his sixth win. The right-hander has allowed a total of two earned runs in his last five starts - spanning 34 innings - to drop his ERA down to 2.10.
Paulino got Florida on the board in the second when he welcomed Chris Capuano back to the major leagues with an RBI double.
Capuano (0-1), who was making his first major-league appearance since September 2007, lasted 3 2/3 innings and was charged with all three runs on seven hits and a walk. Dating back to May 2007, the Brewers are now 0-23 in games where Capuano makes an appearance.
Clay Hensley tossed a scoreless eight and Leo Nunez allowed a run in the ninth but held on for his 12th save.
