Nick Markakis homered and drove in five runs and Ty Wigginton added a pair of homers as the Baltimore Orioles secured a 12-9 win over the Boston Red Sox after on Saturday.

Baltimore scored 10 runs during a two-inning span to erase a 4-1 deficit as they pounded a pair of Red Sox pitchers for their second consecutive victory.

Boston starter Daisuke Matsuzaka (0-1), making his first start of the season after a stint on the disabled list, allowed seven hits, seven runs -- six earned -- and three walks over 4 2/3 innings.

Wigginton started the scoring binge with his team-best seventh home run in the fifth and Matt Wieters smacked a three-run shot in the same frame for the 7-4 lead.

Then in the sixth, Wigginton connected on another and Markakis added a three-run bomb to right field off Tim Wakefield, who was tagged for five runs on five hits in 2 1/3 relief innings.

Baltimore starter Brad Bergesen (1-2), just called up from Triple-A after a recent demotion, picked up the win as he went five innings while allowing seven hits and four runs with two strikeouts.

Alfredo Simon worked the ninth for his second save in as many tries.

David Ortiz hit two solo home runs and Kevin Youkilis and Jonathan Van Every also went deep for Boston.
