Nichols, who added a short TD run, completed 19-of-27 passes for 245 yards and a pair of scores as Winnipeg beat the Argonauts for the fourth time in the last five tries.
James Franklin was 21-of-36 for 151 yards and threw an interception as the Argonauts (1-4) failed to score an offensive touchdown and did not register more than 20 points for the fifth straight game. Llevi Noel and Jermaine Gabriel each returned a fumble for a TD to lead Toronto while Rodney Smith made four catches for 50 yards.
Nichols connected with Darvin Adams (six catches, 82 yards) on a 21-yard scoring strike while Harris ran for a 1-yard touchdown and caught a 5-yard pass for another score as the Blue Bombers sprinted to a 25-1 lead with 1:15 left in the second quarter. However, the Argonauts closed within 13 points by halftime as Noel scooped up a fumble on a punt return before running 49 yards for a TD, and another fumble led to Ronnie Pfeffer's 31-yard field goal as time expired.
Winnipeg re-established control when Nichols snuck into the end zone from 1 yard out early in the third and led by 23 before Gabriel (eight tackles) picked up another fumble by the Blue Bombers and ran 87 yards for a score as Toronto closed within 35-20 after three quarters. But Marcus Sayles intercepted Franklin early in the fourth to set up Justin Medlock's third field goal with 8:55 to go and Winnipeg went on to improve to 2-2 on the road.
